At Service 1st Bank we maintain the highest standards necessary to ensure that your information is kept private and secure at all times.

Even if you were to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to this privacy policy.

At Service 1st Bank, we recognize that every individual(s) and business account relationship has the right to privacy. We appreciate that you have chosen to entrust us with your accounts. We are committed to honor our relationship, and assure you we will treat all of the information you share with us in strict confidence.

Our customer information privacy policy is described in this document, which serves as the standard for all Service 1st Bank employees in the collection, use, retention and security of individual customer information.

Maintenance of Accuracy

We strive to maintain complete, accurate information about you and your accounts. Should you believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will correct any inaccuracies.  

Service 1st Bank Information Management Practices 

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.  Information about customers is accumulated from a variety of sources. You provide some information. We record other information, such as your account history, and still other information is obtained from outside sources, such as credit reporting agencies.  

We limit the collection and use of information about customers to the data necessary to administer our business, provide superior service and offer opportunities we believe may benefit our customers.  

We use some information to help identify and mitigate potential risks and/or losses to the Bank. We also use customer information to identify a likely interest in particular products or services. While taking great care to protect your privacy, we may from time to time offer you new products or services which we believe may be of interest to you.  We believe we can provide you this information and observe our policy of diligently protecting your privacy. We use this information only in accordance with our policy.  

Limitation of Employee Access

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. Employees are aware of the Bank's privacy policy and trained in procedures that maintain confidentiality. Employees who violate provisions of the privacy policy are subject to disciplinary action as stated in the Bank’s written Personnel Policy. 

Types of Personal Financial Information Collected

In conducting business at Service 1st Bank, we collect and maintain various types of information about our customers, including:

  • Information you provide us on applications and through other means, such as your assets, income, other debt and personal identification information.

  • Information about your transactions and account experience with us, such as your account balance and payment history or information about our communication with you, such as a request for a copy of a check and our response.

  • Information from a consumer report such as information regarding your creditworthiness or credit history.

  • Information from other outside sources regarding their employment, credit or other relationship with you or verifying representations made by you, such as your employment history, loan or credit card balance or your property insurance coverage.

Service 1st Bank uses this nonpublic personal information only for business purposes consistent with ethical banking practices and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Information Used by the Bank

The Bank may use your nonpublic personal information as follows:

Within Service 1st Bank:

  • As a security measure, to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your accounts.

  • To help identify and mitigate potential risks and/or losses.

  • We use customer information, for example, taken from loan applications to manage risk and ensure that we are prudent underwriters.

  • In satisfying legal requirements, such as for tax reporting, as required by state and  federal government agencies.

  • In determining which products and services to offer to you in order to best serve your needs.

With Unaffiliated Third Parties:

Service 1st Bank does not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

As Permitted by Law:

We are permitted by law to share limited nonpublic customer account information and/or other personally identifiable information with unaffiliated third parties. Some (but not all) of the circumstances under which the Bank may release such information include:

  • When they are contracted by the Bank to assist in providing services and products to you such as preparing monthly statements, processing monetary transactions and printing checks.

  • Unaffiliated third parties also include credit report agencies to which we report information about your transactions with us.

  • When it may be necessary in verifying or completing a transaction involving your account, such as one being processed through an ACH, Automated Teller Machine or Point of Sale Network, when a third party (such as a merchant or another financial institution) seeks information as to whether there are sufficient funds in your account to cover a transaction, or when a third party needs the information because it is performing functions on behalf of the Bank.

  • When required by law or regulation that require reporting to federal, state and/or local government officials of a transaction, series of transactions or account(s) such as the amount of interest earned on an account, a transaction involving large amounts of currency or foreign countries, persons or companies in foreign countries or a transaction involving persons, companies or countries regulated by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (this list of reportable activities is illustrative, only).

  • When you or any other person with signing authority over your account gives the Bank oral or written permission to do so.

  • When your account is closed by the Bank because it or another of your accounts was not handled properly, in which case the Bank may so advise an account reporting or verifications service (e.g. ChexSystems Inc.) so that other financial institutions subscribing to such a service may be aware of the Bank's view of the situation.

  • When the Bank believes or suspects that a crime involving you or your account may have been or is about to be committed, whether or not local, state, or federal laws require us to report such activity to public officials.

  • With other financial institutions for the purpose of selling or acquiring loans.

Customer Privacy in Third Party Relationships

When we provide customer information to a third party, as permitted by law, we insist - through a written agreement - that the third party maintain the confidentiality of your personally identifiable customer information.
